MUSIC
A collage of several scenes from the music video for the 12th single “Sozo(Creation)”. The phrase “AN INSANE SUGGESTION”, which is an English version of the phrase from his lyrics selected by Hoshino was also incorporated into the design.
This style combines the basic items of a down coat and a pair of jeans, with “Sozo” hoodie. “When thinking about styling with those basic items, the point is the balance of the silhouette. By choosing one size bigger, I created a moderately oversized silhouette. The style of wearing a down jacket on big denim was often seen, but by updating the silhouette in 90’s. and I wanted keep that the urban and cultural mood but by updating the silhouette you can enjoy the style in a modern way. I chose red down coat because I want to make the hoodie stands out. Even in Hoshino’s previous artwork, bright colors were sometimes used symbolically, so I sued it as a reference.”

A hoodie featuring the English translation of “WITHIN NON SENSE”, which is also the tile and appears in the lyrics. The one that is particular about the font makes you feel the strength of the graphic while being simple.
A styling that expresses a beautiful gradation starting from the pale cream color that is the body color of the hoodie. How was the casual yet sophisticated look created? “By layering a high-quality tone Chester coat on a combination of hoodie and sweatpants that are both soft tones, I aimed to express a pleasant shade. For such soft tones, the hoodie graphic is an element that tightens the look. I also added a men’s check shirt to accentuate the overall styling. Choosing one size bigger for each item creates a relaxed feeling, but wearing a double-faced coat creates a sense of the look that allows you to go out.”

PHOTO
A collage of 5 landscape photos taken by Hoshino in the past. The simple white body and the vivid colors of the photo print stand out.
The original photo print T-shirt is paired with a single-breasted coat and slim-fitting denim for a elegant look. “When I first saw the photo print of the T-shirt, the orange color that was used effectively was impressive. Therefore, I chose orange for the fleece jacket inside the coat and linked the colors to make the photos stand out. The T-shirt is one size bigger than the jst size to make it more relaxed feeling, but it is tucked into the jeans and the boder with the bottom is made clear to give it a sharp styling. The combination with the fleece gives it a casual feel, while the coat and slim-fitting jeans bring it closer to a sophisticated image that matches the artistic atmosphere of the photo.”

NISE AKIRA
The autograph of Nise Akira, who is a mysterious character and a friend of Hoshino, is one point on the front, and the back print is a black-and-white photograph of Nise Akira with four colors.
The T-shirt with the signature of Nise Akira on the chest is very simple when viewed from the front. The styling that combines the furry fleece jacket and easy pants gives a sporty impression. “I wanted to unify it in monotone so I focused on how to show the silhouette. I chose all the items one size larger to create an oversized silhouette. In addition, the fleece’s texture and the hem squeezed to create a balloon-like rounded silhouette. A blue beanie is added as a point to this overall silhouette. When you take off the outer, the artwork with a pop art-like color scheme is a monotone coordination. It gives off an impact. I also chose the beanie considering the color compatibility with the coloring of the back print. Combined with a tote back with an illustration drawn by Hoshino, a sophisticated one-mile wear is completed.

ILLUSTRATION
An illustration on the front with sea creatures motif drawn by Hoshino. Pay attention to the one of a kind drawing touch and the facial expression of the creatures captured from the unique perspective of Hoshino.
A T-shirt with an illustration of sea urchins, penguins, and angler fish drawn by Hoshino printed on the front. What is the point of wearing this illustrated T-shirt? “The cuteness of the surreal and charming illustrations is combined with the warmth of the volume boa jacket and cardigan to link the taste and texture. To avoid being too cute, I added a traditional look impression with the scarf on the neck and the pair of the loafers. The black body T-shirt is in the right size and when combined with the white high-rise jeans, it has a monotone contrast and a crisp styling.”

This collection allows you to enjoy the unique worldview that Hoshino has built up through a wide range of creative activities by incorporating the works such as music, photographs and illustrations into the design. TEPPEI said, “While Hoshino’s work is deep and always innovative, it is never too much and creates empathy for many people. I think that is due to the natural sense of balance that Hoshino is born with. I wanted to reflect the essence of the ‘aesthetics of subduction’ that is common to all his works in my styling’.
