A new release for UNIQLO and Disney’s Magic for All project! In collection with Joshua Vides, an artist who creates his own unique worldview using black and white markers, we are releasing “Monochrome Mickey Mouse Art by Joshua Vides.” The collection approaches the charm of Mickey Mouse drawn in monotone. Here we have a fresh report of a special Pop-up store held at the popular coffee shop, Matte Black Coffee in LA.
The world famous pop icon and the beloved local coffee shop
Visual artist Joshua Vides, who is based in Southern California, created a Mickey Mouse that while being simple and monotone, is also full of vitality and energy. While he built his career in the streetwear world, his personal creative activity has been to produce picture-perfect products and spaces by applying white paint and then drawing lines with black markers.
In commemoration of the release of this collection, a special event was held for a limited time in the US where the collection first went on sale. The artwork of “Monochrome Mickey Mouse Art by Joshua Vides” was used to decorate coffee sleeves as well as the interior of a pop-up store installed at Matte Black Coffee, a popular LA coffee shop owned by Joshua. This provided a premium experience of being able to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee while immersing yourself in the world of the collection. It was an event that was so popular that a line to enter formed before opening. Just looking at the photos posted on Joshua’s Instagram account will make you feel great, so be sure to check them out.

Pair with your friends, lovers, and children!
For this collection, he applied his unique technique to draw the global pop icon Mickey Mouse, which we have incorporated into graphics for T-shirts and sweats. With Mickey Mouse peeking out of a trompe l’oeil pocket and a three-dimensional Mickey Mouse logo, the collection is full of playfulness. Of course, the body colors are unified in white and black, making it easy to expand the range of coordinated outfits! With a cool and pop impression, the collection has unisex appeal, and with kids’ sizes available, parents and their children can also enjoy coordinating outfits. Enjoy a wide range of styles this winter.
