People all over the world love Mickey Mouse and his iconic silhouette. This spring, UT’s Mickey Stands collection presents twelve different takes on Mickey standing in his classic pose, which were chosen from over 120 designs by Disney artists. Which Mickey is your favorite?
It all started with a mouse
Since his silver screen debut in 1928, Mickey Mouse has remained one of Disney’s biggest stars, with an iconic standing pose that is immediately recognizable. For this collection, sixty-five Disney creators from across the Asia-Pacific collaborated with UT to create over 120 innovative takes on Mickey’s timeless pose. The project was led by Alex Lin and Pauline Fang of Disney APAC, both true Disney fans; the magic of Disney captivated them as children and continues to stimulate their imaginations as adults.
There are eleven creative designs that tell a story and reflect Mickey’s personality; there’s also one shirt featuring the classic standing Mickey.
“We wanted to shine a light on our younger generation and see a new Mickey Mouse through their eyes,” said Alex. “Seeing the magic coming out of all our designers and witnessing what Mickey represents to them made us realize how Mickey can cast a spell on every person he meets,” added Pauline. The designs chosen for this collection show a sense of innovation and storytelling, while also conveying the characteristics of Mickey Mouse. Whether as an origami sculpture or crafted from scraps of recycled denim, Mickey Mouse is here as you’ve never seen him. All that is left is for you to choose your favorite!
