Fast Retailing respects all forms of employee diversity. Based on that principle, we instigate activites that help foster independence among socially disadvantaged women worldwide.

    Les Medecins du Monde

    We have been working with international NGO, Médecins du Monde, to provide better access to medical services for women in vulnerable situations or living in unstable environments. UNIQLO has been donating AIRism masks and other items as part of that initiative.

    The Upcycling Project

    We have been supporting the incomes of single mothers with low incomes and refugee women by helping them produce upcycled accessories made from fabric collected from UNIQLO stores. We donate sewing machines and tools to help increase the capacity of the workshops and facilitate the training of even more women.

    We donate clothing and sanitary pants through the Danner House advice center for women to help support women who have suffered gender violence, single mothers on low incomes, and refugee women.

    Fondazione Progetto Arca Onlus

    UNIQLO donates essential wear, such as HEATTECH items, and reusable clothing collected from customers and also makes financial donations to help women in socially vulnerable positions and their families in cooperation with the NPO Fondazione Progetto Arca Onius. We also dispatch volunteers to help with clothing donation events.

    UNIQLO provides thermal innerwear, sanitary pants, and other items through Antiviolence Centers E.M.M.A., an NGO that provides warm, safe spaces for all women who have experienced gender violence in any form.

    Stockholms Stadsmission

    We donate HEATTECH and other items to women in socially vulnerable positions and their families through Stockholms Stadsmission, an organization that provides social care, work counselling, and educational support.

    UNHCR, Liberty Society

    UNIQLO works with UNHCR and its implementation partner, Liberty Society, to help refugee women produce upcycled products. As a pilot project, Fast Retailing India donated denim material collected in its stores to UNHCR, and then ordered 500 pouches and card holders from Liberty Society.

    UNIQLO donates clothing samples, and other items to women in socially vulnerable positions in cooperation with Dress for Success, a not-for-profit organization that helps women achieve economic independence by providing a support network, clothing for the workplace, and the necessary development tools for succeeding at work and in life.

    We are scheduled to start working with the International Medical University in Kuala Lumpur in 2022 to provide skills training (marketing skills, digital literacy, independence support projects, etc.) for women in socially underprivileged environments.

    We are developing our joint program with UN Women launched in 2019. Currently, Fast Retailing is also conducting independent training to support career-building activities for women working in partner sewing factories.

    We donate reusable secondhand clothing to developing countries primarily in Africa. These clothing donations can help encourage women to go for prenatal checkups and become more aware of available health and medical services. We also disseminate information about women' health and other issues to help facilitate an environment in which all people can enjoy sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).

    We donate clothing to women from ethnic minorities.We have distributed Miao Embroidery badges to customers who have participated in our activities here. We also purchased over 40,000 embroidered items.

    We give financial donations to the Asian University for Women (AUW), an international university located in Bangladesh, to foster female leaders in Asia who aspire to work on the global stage and help them embark on active roles in society.

    We donate clothing and extend invites to styling events to women living in shelters and facilities across the country (Women's protection facilities independence support homes, children's shelters, etc.) to help support their daily lives and foster greater independence.
