PREPARING CLOTHES
FOR AN EMERGENCY
DISASTER
UNIQLO has aided disaster victims around the world over the past 20 years. It has learned in the process that few people prepare clothing kits for such emergencies.
UNIQLO’s experience
has given it insights
into the clothing
that people really
need in disasters

Bag
(Backpack)
Underwear and socks are essential. You need to change them daily. Have enough for several days. Include a sweatshirt and sweatpants. That’s so you can move around easily and be able to go out. Also pack room shoes and a mask. Choose basic colors that do not stand out at evacuation centers.
Pieces should offer plenty of stretch for comfort and adjustability. They should be light and compact. Prefer items with antibacterial and deodorizing fabric. Avoid 100% cotton, which dries slowly, and choose fabrics that dry fast after the rain or washing.
Disasters can strike at any time. So, choose items that you can wear all year round in any situation. Below is UNIQLO’s checklist for packing emergency clothing.
